Hairstylist Yoshitaka Mizayaki’s journey began in Japan, where he graduated from beauty college and launched his career first working for a prestigious Tokyo salon, and then opening his own salon in his hometown of Chiba. There he honed his craft and developed advanced techniques.
In 2006, Yoshi moved to London to study at the esteemed Sassoon Academy. During this time he managed salons in Soho and Tottenham Court Road while assisting the renowned stylist Peter Gray. Inspired by the pioneering work of Katsu Yakamo in international session styling, Yoshi set his sights on pursuing session work at the highest level.
Yoshi's style is defined by a mastery of classic techniques combined with contemporary flair, emphasizing precision, accuracy, and lustrous finishes. He is passionate about creating avant-garde hairstyles that are both perfectly balanced and capable of being deconstructed for a fresh, alternative look.
Drawing inspiration from Sassoon's legendary cutting methods and the rebellious energy of 1980s punk, Yoshi has collaborated with designers such as Erdem and his work has graced the pages of prominent publications including Re-Edition, 10 Magazine, Hero, Exit and multiple international editions of Vogue.
