Set designer Carlota Cabrera approaches set design as an art form, and often draws inspiration for her work from the Surrealist & Dada movement. Having grown up in Gran Canaria, in a town renowned for its flamboyant carnival culture, Carlota found a deep fascination for elaborate costumes, dazzling props and glittering stages early in her life. With the background in prop making and scenic painting for the West End shows as well as creating installations for window displays, festivals and events, Carlota infuses all of her projects with unique synergy of skill, knowledge and her own personality and passion for her craft. Her vibrant, whimsical and textured style sees her doing set design for the likes of Zara, Mango, Jigsaw, Puss Puss and international Vogues. Carlota also works as an Art Director, and is based between London and the Canary Islands.
